Professional Development Scholarships

Professional Development Scholarships are available to all Dare County Schools educators, including administrators, teachers, teaching assistants, and school staff.

  • Funding requests may be based on anticipated costs for professional development or as reimbursement.

  • Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis between November 1 and March 1, or until the budgeted funds run out.

  • We will be in touch within two weeks of receipt of your application.

  • Maximum request for individual experiences = $1500 

  • Maximum requests for group experiences = $3000.

  • You may now apply as an individual or a group. Group applications should be submitted by a lead teacher or supervisor.

Certification and Tuition Reimbursement

Dare Education Foundation will consider partial reimbursements to DCS educators pursuing a National Board Certification, High Education, or Certification Exams. Please submit an application, and we will look forward to reviewing your request!

  • Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis between November 1 and March 1, or until the funds run out.

  • National Board Initial: $190/component

  • National Board Renewal: $300

  • Praxis or similar certification exam: Up to $150

  • Tuition: $150 per class for up to three classes 

    • courses must be completed prior to the reimbursement request
